Marinated Flank Steak
This very simple recipe, for one of our favorite cuts, employs a very interesting combination
of ingredients.
Remember to cook the steak only to medium rare and to slice the meat on the diagonal.
1/2 c. soy sauce |
1/2 c. cooking sherry |
3 T. honey |
3 - 5 large garlic cloves, coarsely chopped |
2 T. sesame oil |
2 T. fresh ginger, minced |
1/2 t. red pepper flakes |
2 lbs. flank steak |
- Mix the first seven ingredients (all but the steak) in a Ziplock bag. Add the steak, turning
it to coat it thoroughly. Refrigerate for 3 to 6 hours.
- Prepare the broiler or grill. Cook the steak 5-6 minutes per side. Slice thinly, across the grain,
and serve.
